Would you trust this man to teach your class? David McElhannon

Chief Design Officer

David loves to design games. He also loves to teach. That's why he founded PWH. After a stint working for Uncle Sam, he finished college and went to work for, of all things, a game company. Over the years, he's worked for several different game companies in various capacities, from developer/designer and artist at Decision Games® to developer/rules guru and layout artist at Emperor's Press® to Southeast Regional Rep for Wizards of the Coast® and playtester for several other companies. He's got a lot of gaming experience and so, when he took on teaching as a profession it was just natural that he brought simulation games to his classroom.

David began creating the simulations which later evolved into some of Play With History's first products during his very first quarter as a teacher. Once the students had played Firsts & Thirds, they asked for more and so, one at a time, he put together a stable of simulations that run the width and breadth of history. He loves teaching and feels strongly that students are the promise of the future. To that end, he feels that getting students to ask the "why" questions is more important than simply "who" or "when". PWH simulation games do exactly that.
