The long night of the Dark Ages gave way to the dawn of the Renaissance. Europe came alive with trade, art, science, and new thoughts and ideas. Western civilization was virtually reborn in what amounts to a historical heartbeat. The Catholic Church enjoyed a rebirth as well gaining in both power and prestige. Families like the DeMedici's wielded great resources and brought great artistic vision to fruition.
However, all was not as calm and tranquil as it seemed. France and the Holy Roman Empire vied for leadership of Europe, even to the point of the sword. There was division as well in the Church between factions as each tried to control the Papacy. Finally, on the fringe of Europe there was a renewed threat from Islam. Yes, the long night gave way to a new dawning...a dawning of social and political struggle...a Dawn of Discovery.
Dawn of Discovery is an exciting simulation using real world models designed to allow six teams the chance to experience first hand the political intrigue, economic boom, and joy of rediscovery that characterized the Renaissance.
